Okay, this is a Toronto-centric posting. That is where I am from. These are the streets that I roam. But before my time in the city, the cinema currently known as The Bloor was known as Eden and showed a very different kind of movie. Even though The Bloor reccently hosted
Darryl's Hard Liquor and Porn Festival, what was regularly on the screen back in the day attracted a different kind of crowd.

And the Eden had a sister - the Eve, situated on the other side of Bathurst street west of Bloor.
When i started going to the Bloor in the early 80's my dad was horrified. He still thought it was the Eden and I had to do a lot of explaining.
When the Eden closed and became a Famous Players theatre (briefly) in the very late 70's I went there to see "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (fell asleep) and "Going In Style" with George Burns.
