Canned Goods
A selection of three stylish labels from the over one hundred 16mm films I rescued the other day. Yes I run a orphanage for abandoned film as well as a home for wayward girls.

R.I.P.
This one is also from the heart. If you love DePalma (and if you don't, you can do what Ted Nugent instructs those who feel like gettin' mellow to do on Double Live Gonzo...so there!) then you love William Finley. I, in particular, am deeply obsessed and given to The Phantom of the Paradise and have been for as long as I was able to get CityTV on the dial. I had a goldfish I won from the local fair named Winslow...shit like that. So, it is with great sadness that I have learned of his death this weekend. But, with that, there are many, many memories of great and genuine joy either associated with many facets of my life where it has popped up literally or in my mind or that I have had while watching the film, listening to the songs and talking with other lifelong fans or friends about how terrific it is. And Finley was my man and when he sits (as Leach) at that piano and does his audition! Wow! Then I'm in and there for the rest of the movie.

BQ
In Britain, they do it the other way. The standard poster used in theatres is the horizontal style British Quad. They use the one sheet (I think they call it a double crown or some other UK kinda thing) for other markets. They're very similar to our North American half-sheets except they talk funny.

3 Supermen A Tokio
Italian superhero series 'Il Fantastici 3 Supermen' had a killer title theme. I had no idea there was a Japanese edition though!

Hyperopia
How old Cary Grant? I love that story and it's a reminder of the characters of class that glided around Hollywood back when things seemed so good. But here and today it's different. And just here and yesterday, I was glancing through the recent catalogue for an upcoming biggie poster auction and I stumbled upon something that made me take sharp notice. I am far from being a conspiracy nut and aside from subtle street ogling and looking in lit windows when I walk around aimlessly/purposefully/to the store, I don't really consider myself all that much of an investigative sort. But there it was in plain focus and staring me in the face like an ecstatic Grace Kelly.
Was Cary Grant farsighted?
